Changing The Age Limit, What Do You Think Jr.s?
Hey junior members!!! I hope everyone is gearing up for a fun packed summer. Our board is really looking forward to the regionals and classics.

Since some of you members felt very passionate about being kept in the loop about decisions the junior board is making, I thought using this forum to get your opinions would be very helpful for both the members and the board. The Activities and Events Committee has brought the idea of extending the maximum age limit of juniors to the age of 22. What are your thoughts?

I agree with Gary. I think 8 year olds should be allowed to show at our nationals.

I agree 7-8 year olds should be able to show at regionals and nationals. They already show in 4-H and juniors. You need to keep them interested before they get involved in too many activities, sports, scouts, etc.

The AJSA is for "juniors". By 22yo I did not want to be a "junior". It is great the amount of support from older members of the AJSA, but there needs to be a cut-off somewhere.
Usually by 22 most are in college, and if interested in the breed, I would recommend to become members and active on adult boards which usually are looking for young energetic members. However, the more the merrier, and I would welcome anyone interested in the breed and association.

I think it is a really good idea!!! I have been in the junior program for four years and I wanted to be in it whaen I was younger. I know that alot of juniors are really sad when they have to get out of the program.
